Annapurna Sunrise Trek is also known as Ghandruk Poon Hill Trek in the Annapurna region. It is a short trek for 4-5 day itinerary from Pokhara. The trek is in the favour of providing massif Himalayan views of the Annapurna chain and its blend with the cultural opulence of the indigenous groups. The trail starts from Nayapul and goes through the rhododendron forests, including the awesome panoramas of streams, waterfalls and a unique mountain landscape.
The initial portion of the trekking encapsulate the excellent culture of the Gurung people of the Ghandruk village. It is also known as the village of the Gurkhas as all the youths design their plan to join the British and Indian Army. It signifies the foundation of their forefathers, who fought in the world wars. You can visit the Gurung museum in Ghandruk and have a charm of Annapurna south and Himchuli. The route of Annapurna sunrise trek goes both clockwise and anti-clockwise route and this itinerary leads you from anti-clockwisely. Top of the hill, a tiny settlement lies with few lodges. Poon Hill is the most striking dot of the trekking, above the Ghorepani. The sunrise view over the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Himchuli and the vicinity white peaks are breathtaking. In spring, the collage of rhododendron flowers offers remarkable sceneries, with the flowery hills elsewhere. The steep steps on the summing the trek via Ulleri, it leads to Nayapul and end the trip.
