Nagarkot, located 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu, is one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear. Visitors often travel to Nagarkot from Kathmandu to spend the night so that they can be there for the breathtaking sunrise. Nagarkot has become famous as one of the best spots to view Mount Everest as well as other snow-topped peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal.

It also offers an excellent view of the Indrawati river valley to the east. With an elevation of 2,195 meters, Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Valley and is described by visitors as a place whose beauty endures year round.

Many visitors prefer to visit Nagarkot in the spring when surrounding valleys break out in a rich kaleidoscope of different coloured flowers. The flowers are beautiful against the serene backdrop of the snow-covered mountains. Ever popular among the tourists are the short treks and picnics which Nagarkot offers. Treks from Nagarkot are unique and delightful. For anyone who wants to have an adventure without exerting much efforts, a hike to Nagarkots surrounding areas would be a good option. One can traverse short distances on trekking trails and come close to natures wonders such as the outer of verdant forests, flower-covered meadows and unusual rock formations.

Day 01:Arrive Nepal.

Day 02:Kathmandu to Sundarijal drive by privet car Jeep or local bus. And trek to Chisapani.

Day 03:Chisapani to Nagarkot

Day 04:Transfer to the International airport to connect onward flight.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrive Nepal. Meet assist at the airport and transfer to the overnight Pilgrims Guest House.

Day 02Kathmandu to Sundarijal drive by privet car Jeep or local bus. And trek to Chisapani. This is one of the most popular picnic spot for the people living in Kathmandu valley. Sundarijal is also the major water supply spot for people in Kathmandu. From here we will start our climbing uphill route towards Chisapani village. The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang habitants with unique settlements. The walk is pleasant. We will descend few hundred meters down where we will reach a small town with spectacular views of Himalayas; Chisapani.

Day 03Chisapani to Nagarkot Early morning we will set off to Nagarkot, Today's hike is rather longer with majestic mountain views offered throughout the day. We enjoy the sunset at mountains from the Nagarkot hill station. Nagarkot itself is popular among urban people of Kathmandu as a nearby destination to spend weekends enjoying magnificent & panoramic views of many Himalayan ranges. Pickup from Nagarkot to transfer to the overnight Pilgrims Guest House.
